I've been agonizing over my 18thc wardrobe. I tried my stays on recently, and they're starting to fit better. I think I'm getting better at lacing it, at the horizontal boning is starting to bend into the correct round shape, rather than flattening me out. Now I just need to bind it and I'm done!

After working on Meg's corset for a while I was in a very "let's make a corset!" mood, so I started adding boning in my 18thc stays. I'm using a combination of of plastic and metal boning. I finished my pink linen petticoat! I looks great. I love the colour so much, it's such a cheerful pink! Now I have two 18thc petticoats, one linen and one cotton. They're both the same length so I can mix and match which one goes on top.

Hey, do any of you costume people have a copy of Corsets and Crinolines? Because I went all the way to the Toronto Research library while I was in town to photocopy the 1770s stays and then went and forgot to bring it to school.
